Click on image for larger viewJust below the hotel is a river lined with small sack tents along its bank. River children (name given by the hotel staff) live in them. They move around in groups and beg for food during the day. I gave them coconut and watermelon in the evening. Their poverty tugs at my heart.

  1. Because of the (unofficial!) caste system the only assured future these kids have is continued poverty.

    Yes, it really does tug at one's heart.
