India 30

Click on image for larger viewDuring the last few days in India I spent some time on the river farms just outside the Tibetan Colony at Majnu Ka Tilla. The last hour of light in the evening was absolutely magical. I'm going to search for favourite images and show them on this blog.

Lost in Transit

Click on image for larger viewBetween Singapore and Sydney is Adelaide Airport. Don't ask me why our plane stopped there but having to wait several hours for a connection is an Australian torture. From where I sat the first picture is looking right and the second looking left.

Majnu Ka Tilla and the very French street scenes. This is the hottest March since 1945. It hovers around 39 degrees day and night. It even reached 45.

Click on image for larger viewTomorrow is Gangaur (Women's Festival). One image that defines India for me is of the gymnastic girl who rolled and flipped into on coming traffic, then popped up to ask for money. In a few years she may become part of the labouring women who break rocks by the road side.

Staying in Bundi, southern Rajasthan for 6 days. It's 45 degrees during the day when only mad cows and silly photographers venture out. The dry landscape is very beautiful and these photographs were taken in the middle of the day, when the workers were sleeping.
