Click on images for larger viewOne day in Rajasthan. This is such an interesting place and the people are so excepting of the camera. The children love looking at the LCD screen and pose again. At last I have found an internet cafe without a que but all the letters are worn off the key board. I will have to edit when I can but this is a small collection from today.

It would be easy to show cliche images of life and death on these streets. But, I see my photographs as occasional frames from a silent movie, carefully removing the other frames of truth (I am not a documentary photographer). You can fill in the rest and imagine the noise, smells and dirt.
.
It's a strange yet beautiful place.

Telephoto
Click on image for larger viewI have never been a fan of telephoto lenses because they squash perspective which I find un-natural. I always use a very slightly wide lenses (40mm) which seems best. With my new camera I have a lens which is about 70mm (about 1.5 magnification) and I made a few photographs on Cuba St today. I quite like the feeling of the one above.

This Dog at Last
Click on image for larger viewI've seen this dog many times outside a cafe in Wadestown where I meet a friend each week. Nothing has worked to date but now I have a photograph which I'm happy with. I also like the paving stones and the little path at the top because it all adds to the mystery and balance of the picture. I'll make a print and leave it for the owner who will probably wonder why?
.
If you look at Jan 22nd post below I have another recent doggy find.

Panza Tank
Click on images for larger viewTwo photographs made yesterday at Oriental Parade with my new Panza tank of a camera and a 50 year old lens. After the ease of Jap technology I have to get used to total manual control again. It pays off in the end because if you click on the picture above you will see the Germans knew how to grind, spit and polish optics.
